GovCERT.ch is the federal computer emergency response team (CERT) and the official CERT for Switzerland. GovCERT.ch is part of the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC), which in turn is part of the General Secretariat in the Federal Department of Finance (FDF).
GovCERT.ch supports citizens, SMEs and critical infrastructures with technical information about current threats, analyses and tools. During security incidents involving critical infrastructure, GovCERT.ch analyses the attackers' malware and data flows and provides appropriate detection tools.
GovCERT.ch has a mandate to process all types of security incident relating to Switzerland, and works closely with the cantonal police authorities. This cooperation covers both the exchange of information and support in technical analyses.
To ensure the timely exchange of information on cyberthreats and attacks, GovCERT.ch works with other CSIRTs (computer security incident response teams), CERTs and GovCERTs worldwide. Membership in various associations enables GovCERT.ch to establish a global network of close relationships. GovCERT.ch is a member of FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams www.first.org) and of the European Government CERTs EGC (www.egc-group.org).
