- Do not respond and break off contact.
- If you made a payment, report the incident to the police. You can search for police stations in your area and their telephone numbers on the Suisse ePolice website: https://www.suisse-epolice.ch/#/search-station (in French, German, Italian).
- Exercise caution when dealing with cheques.
- It can take three to four weeks before the bank can say with certainty whether a cheque is going to bounce or not. You are typically liable to the bank for the amount of the cheque.
