24.04.2025 - People often neglect to set secure passwords and install security updates. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the Swiss Crime Prevention Unit (SCP), cantonal and municipal police forces, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Swiss Post and the Swiss Insurance Association (SIA) are launching the next stage of the "S-U-P-E-R.ch" campaign to raise public awareness about cybersecurity under the slogan "No excuses – Do it!".
Many people find cybersecurity tedious and complicated and quickly find excuses to justify their lax approach to the issue. It is all too easy to opt for simple passwords and then use the same one to sign in to multiple online services. And there never seems to be a convenient time to run security updates. However, every time that happens, the risk of falling victim to a cyberattack increases significantly. It is therefore really important to address this issue. After all, the human factor is often the first line of defence when it comes to averting cyberattacks and minimising cyber risks. That is why the 2025 national awareness campaign ‘S-U-P-E-R.ch’ is being launched today under the slogan of ‘No excuses – Do it now!’.
"No excuses – Do it!"
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and encourage people to actively address the risks of acting carelessly. To reach as many population groups as possible, the campaign presents concrete and practical examples to show that everyone can be affected by cybersecurity risks. The campaign website S-U-P-E-R.ch features a range of information about cybersecurity relevant to individuals and businesses. There is a competition on the kinds of excuses people use for not keeping up to date. Short videos show common excuses and are intended to encourage target groups to question their behaviour online and be more careful.
Campaign launch coincides with start of the BEA spring fair
The awareness campaign run by the NCSC, in conjunction with the SCP, SBB, Swiss Post, the SIA and cantonal and municipal police forces, will be launched on 25 April at the BEA spring fair in Bern. Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to chat with cyberexperts and partners and try to win a prize by playing the ‘Cards against Cybersecurity’ game, as well as capturing the moment in the photo booth. The campaign will run until 31 May.
