13.11.2025 - Alertswiss will now also provide warnings to the public and businesses about serious cyberthreats. The NCSC and the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP) have stepped up their collaboration. Cyberalerts are now integrated into both the Alertswiss app and website. This provides an additional channel through which to inform and warn the public as quickly as possible in the event of large-scale or unprecedented cyberattacks, and to provide practical guidance.
In the event of a widespread cyberattack, the first few hours and the initial protective measures can be crucial. For this reason, the NCSC and the FOCP have stepped up their collaboration on cyberthreat alerts. Going forward, the NCSC will use Alertswiss alongside its existing channels whenever new or large-scale cyberattacks threaten the public or businesses. Everyday cyber risks, such as phishing campaigns, will continue to be communicated through the NCSC's established channels to help raise awareness and promote ongoing protection.
Push notifications with practical advice
Every cyberalert issued by the NCSC contains specific recommendations on how individuals and businesses can effectively protect themselves. These alerts are distributed via the NCSC website, the Cyber Security Hub, LinkedIn, and now also through Alertswiss (app and website). Anyone who wishes to report an incident or ask a question can use the reporting form on the NCSC website. Installed on over 2.3 million smartphones, the Alertswiss app provides an effective communication channel to a large share of the population. It enables users to receive push notifications containing alerts, warnings and other civil protection information relating to their own location and their chosen favourite cantons.
Depending on the nature of the threat, cyber alerts issued by the NCSC will appear on the Alertswiss app at either the "alert" or "information" level and will be published nationwide or for the affected regions.
