Domain owners are informed by a dubious company that there is interest in domains with the same name and that these have to be registered immediately.
The owner of a specific domain is contacted by a supposed domain registrar, who claims to have received a request to register the same name under a different extension, such as '.com' or '.cn'. The scammers then offer to register the domain themselves, but at highly inflated prices. It is unclear whether the domain would actually be registered after payment. Do not respond to these types of messages; delete them.
